County of San Diego COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program Now Open
The County of San Diego is now accepting applications for rental assistance. The application period will remain open until March 16. Housing providers may apply on behalf of residents.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Send Notice of Rent Delinquency (Form 401) no later than February 28 to anyone with past due rent.

The legislation to extend protections against eviction for non-payment of rent due to COVID-19 and to create a rental assistance framework (SB 91) was passed by both Assembly and Senate today. Governor Newson has already indicated his support of the bill and is expected to sign it immediately.
First and foremost, SCRHA would like to thank all the members who called, wrote, emailed, and offered public testimony in response to today’s San Diego City Council vote on an Eviction Moratorium. We knew this action was going to be virtually impossible to stop but it doesn’t mean it was all for naught. Many councilmembers spoke of their concerns for property owners and even directly referenced emails they received from SCRHA members. It did pass, but a new proposal from the State Legislature has changed many of the dynamics. Read on for further explanation...
